“Altar EGO” (Expanding God’s Outreach)
What’s happening on the 3rd Floor?
Answer: Rotational Sunday School and More
"My favorite things to do at Sunday school is doing crafts, and listening to stories, and singing. And I love my teachers!" says, Kyannah Komorech. Kyannah is talking about Rotational Sunday School, a series of Bible based lessons that reinforce hands-on learning for our children ages PreK – 4th Grade. For four consecutive weeks, children learn about a specific theme; like Daniel and the Lion’s Den; Who is Jesus?; Creation and the list goes on. The children are divided into three age groups and visit a different station each week. The stations include crafts; drama; recreation and science/food. Each activity within the station is geared toward the theme so the stories and bible verses are reinforced week after week.
“I think the rotation gives the children the lesson in several ways, which appeals to different learning styles. We don't all understand things in the same ways. As a rotation leader, it gives me an opportunity to serve without making a yearlong commitment, which works well with my busy schedule. I love it!” says, Debbie Fannon.
To make things even more “over the top”, volunteers came together and redecorated the 3rd floor classrooms and hall.

A special Thank You goes to Wendy Miller for her dedication and hard work over the last year as coordinator of this ministry. In June, she passed the baton to Carol McAdams. People are always needed to help lead the different stations. It only takes a few steps to become a helper. 1. Say YES! 2. Get your Safe Sanctuary training completed (see Steph Shields for details) 3. Look over the information handed to you by Carol, pick out what activities best fit you and run with it!
![]() The 5th & 6th grade teachers also gave their room a make-over. It is bright, cheery and fun. This room is also enjoyed by the SPLAT 5th & 6th grade youth group each week.
So, take a field trip to the 3rd floor and check out the children’s new space.
