Meet the Staff

 

Pastor Scott Moon  (Pastor)

Pastor Scott Moon, an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, has served as pastor in Missouri for thirty years, and has been leading Maryville First since July 2009. As pastor, Scott regularly preaches and teaches, presides at Holy Communion, baptisms and weddings, provides pastoral care to the church family, and oversees the administration of the congregation. He is generally available to meet mornings, Monday through Thursday, and by appointment.
 
 
Chris Komorech       (Youth Director)
Chris Komorech, youth minister, directs the ministry for youth in grades 5 – 12. This includes Sunday evening youth groups, Sunday morning Sunday school, preparation for Confirmation, and youth mission trips. Chris also assists in leading a variety of ministries which reach the entire church family. Chris is a seminary student at St. Paul School of Theology, and his availability through the week is set according to that schedule.
 
Marjean Ehlers        (Visitation Minister)
Marjean touches the community with her ministry as Visitation Minister for First United Methodist Church. Marjean, also, finished her seminary work at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. Some of her special interests include, worship leadership, women and children's issues, and family relationship guidance. Marjean can be reached through the church office or by leaving a message at 582-4821.
 
Annette Farnan       (Church Secretary)
Annette, church secretary, has been with FUMC since July 2008. She handles the day to day business of the church. Reserving the church for special occasions, scheduling meetings and taking information for the bulletins and Tower Times newsletters are just a few of Annette’s many tasks. Annette can be found in the office Monday – Thursday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
 
Stephanie Shields   (Pastoral Assistant)
Joining the staff in March 2010, Stephanie takes care of special projects. E-news (the weekly update email), informational slides and announcements, bulletin board information and website creation and maintaining are included in the tasks Stephanie completes weekly. Stephanie can assist you Monday – Wednesday from 8 am to 1 pm and Thursday from 8 am to 12 noon.
 
 
Peggy Purdy           (Financial Secretary)
Peggy currently works full time at Northwest Missouri State University as an Accounting Manager in the Advancement Office.  She also works part time as the financial secretary of the church, posting contributions and expenses, and performing essential accounting functions. Peggy can be contacted through the church office or by leaving a message 582-4821.
  
Joe Auten                (Custodian)
Joe Auten has been with the church for over 14 years. Serving the church’s custodial needs keeps Joe hopping. He also makes sure the church is open and locked daily. Joe can be reached at the church Tuesday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm.
 
Bev Auten               (Custodian)
Bev Auten has been with FUMC for over 12 years. Bev can be reached at the church Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 4:30 and Thursday 8 am to 12 noon. Bev also makes sure the church is open and locked daily and helps with the custodial needs of the church.
