Prayer

Are You There God?               Thank You Lord!              Please bless my friend...

How do you pray?  There are many different ways in which you can pray or be a part of prayer.

At church:
  • There is a small chapel for your convenience 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This chapel is located through the south entrance just to the right.
  • The church sanctuary is open:
    • Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm
    • Monday - Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm
  • Each Monday a Prayer Request is sent via email to individuals wishing to be part of a prayer tree.  Those who wish to be lifted up in prayer whether it is for a joy or concern can be added to this prayer request.
    • If you are going through a time in your life where you could use additional prayer on your side, please let us know and we will add you to the list.
    • If you would like to pray for those in need, send us your email address.  We will put you on the list to receive the Prayer Requests each week.
    • We can be reached at pastoralasst@earthlink.net, 660-582-4821 or pastorfumc@earthlink.net.
  • Prayer Team Ministry ~ You are invited to be a part of the Prayer Team Ministry at FUMC.   Whether you are making a permanent commitment or just want to “come and see”, groups meet several times during the week at the Prayer Chapel (2nd floor, north side) each week.  Each group meets at the Prayer Chapel, share or read the joys and concerns, offer silent prayer and then depart (at least as a group) after 30 minutes.

If your schedule will not allow you to attend your regular group, you may choose to participate at that time from wherever you are, can choose to attend at another Prayer Group time, or may come to the Chapel on your own at another time, whenever the Church is open.  It is designed to be a very relaxed atmosphere, and we hope you will give it a try.

Groups meet at 3:30 p.m. on Mondays; 5:15 a.m., 6:30 a.m., and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays; and 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays.  Thank you for considering this ministry opportunity.
At home:
  • Talk with God like you do a friend.
  • Prayers do not need to be lengthy or full of the "right" words.  God knows your heart and knows what you need.
  • The key is to keep God in your heart and pray.
